The nut shim is only required if you have terrible open fret buzz… more recently, the Ibanez Prestige line seem to have a different issue – super high nuts. In comparison, buying a nut shim (or DIY) is simpler than having to grind a nut down. I say grind the nut and not the wood under the nut because damaging the nut will only cost you 10 quid, but messing up the neck, well you know :)

guitar looks awesome, but i don’t think i could of done all the nut shim stuff without messing it up…
do you have to do this on all new ibbys? :)
